‘THE WIFE’ SEASON THREE TRAILER IS HERE

Showmax dropped the teaser for the third and final season of The Wife, their Twitter-topping telenovela. The Wife returns on 10 November for its most explosive season yet, with three episodes dropping every Thursday into 2023.

Season three centres on two star-crossed lovers: Tswana doctor Naledi Montsho and Zulu taxi driver Qhawe. Gaisang K Noge stars as Naledi, with Qhawe played by Kwenzo Ngcobo.

Naledi and Qhawe’s instant chemistry set Twitter alight in Season two, but Kwenzo said their love story is just beginning.

“When two lovers meet, it’s always an exciting and lovey-dovey situation,” said the Port Shepstone-born actor.

“However, a few months later, challenges begin to emerge. That’s when the drama begins.”

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SEASON THREE

Season three picks up with Naledi kidnapped and the Zulu brothers’ crimes now front page news. This is just the first of the obstacles Naledi and Qhawe will have to overcome this season.

Qhawe is the sweetest of the Zulu brothers – but still part of a formidable crime family. And Naledi? Well, the Zulu brothers may have finally met their match in their in-laws to be.

Kwenzo calls this season “a story about two people fighting for love”.

“What Qhawe and Naledi have is beautiful. People will witness this couple facing numerous challenges and their world being rocked hard. There are many people who are in love but are in situations that make it difficult for them to love each other, and I believe this story will be very relatable to them. It’s really something beautiful,” added Kwenzo.

Season three expands beyond the Johannesburg taxi industry to Royal Thabeng and the North West. The season will see new cast:

    • Sello Motloung (Blood Psalms) as Naledi’s father, Kgosi
    • Bongo Maffin’s Stoan Seate as Sefako, Qhawe’s rival for Naledi
    • Lungelo Mpangase (eHostela, Lingashoni, Mzali Wam) as Xoli, Sambulo’s love interest
    • Mo Setumo (The Queen) as Tshidi, Naledi’s older sister
    • Terrence Ngwila (Lioness) as Detective Baloyi
    • Thabang Lefoa (Skeem Saam) as Tsietsi.
