1 June marks the beginning of Pride Month and while the LGBTQI+ community is looking forward to a few colourful celebrations, others aren’t too excited… South African-born businessman Elon Musk came under fire for an interesting tweet about Pride Month that had one tweep claiming the Tesla CEO was “scared” of the LGBTQI+ community.
ELON MUSK IS ‘NOT EXCITED’ FOR PRIDE MONTH
Every year, some of the biggest companies all over the world show their support for the LGBTQI+ community during Pride Month by changing their logos to rainbow colours.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday 31 May, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk proved he was clearly not a fan of this.
The father-of-two posted a meme of several companies plastered in rainbow colours, with the caption: “June is almost here”.
Some of the companies on the meme included Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and YouTube.
TWEEPS BASH ELON MUSK
Reacting to Elon Musk’s tweet bashing companies for supporting Pride Month, several tweeps were unhappy.
“Somebody is scared of the LGBT+ community,” wrote one tweep.
“Hey Pale Kid Aren’t you a homophone?” wrote another tweep.
“I hate this man.”
TESLA CELEBRATES PRIDE MONTH…
In 2018, Musk’s automative company Tesla celebrated Pride Month by flying the Pride flag high and marching through the street. The company has also flaunted several colourful vehicles in celebration of Pride Month.
Reacting to the old tweet, one tweep wrote: “He’s just virtue signalling he will do and say whatever makes him the most money, regardless of his integrity or if it’s hypocritical.”
