    ‘I can’t disclose why I left’: ‘Muvhango’ actress Elsie Rasanalavho

    Muvhango actress Elsie Rasalanavho – who played the role of Vho-Mukondeleli for over two decades has revealed that she chose to leave the SABC2 Venda soapie.   

    Rasalanavho confirmed her exit back in April when the Venda soapie celebrated its 25th anniversary on television.

    The fan-favourite Muvhango actress Elsie Rasalanavho who’s popularly known for her role as Vho-Mukondeleli told Daily Sun that she left the show due to personal reasons.   

    “My departure was voluntary. The time had come for me to focus on other things outside Muvhango.”  

    “Unfortunately, I cannot disclose my reasons for leaving and all I can say is that it’s personal. Perhaps one day I will be back on TV but it will not be on Muvhango”  

    “For now, I will be at home taking a break.”  

    The actress also tells the publication that she had a wonderful journey on the soapie and was blessed to work with a wonderful cast and directors.

    Rasalanavho would like to thank the viewers for welcoming her and supporting her craft and also pleads with them to continue watching the show.   

    She, unfortunately, couldn’t watch her last episode because she was visiting her husband who is in hospital as he hasn’t been well. She’s appreciative of her fans who were so emotional to see her departure.  

    The actress also thanked Muvhango producers, her colleagues, the executive producer, and the production house for their support and said she’ll miss her colleagues Regina Nesengani and Eunice Mabeta who play Vho-Masindi and Vho-Makhadzi respectively.    

    “My sisters, I will miss our lunchtime, sharing food. We even shared scripts and modified them to bring them out the way we thought it would work.”    


    “Shm . So many characters they’re killing in Muvhango. Next thing everyone will die and resurrect.”  


    “After not watching so long I was disappointed to come back to this bye I can’t watch it again.” 😢😢
