Daily Sun reports that the seasoned actor Mduduzi Nombela, who’s known for playing Phunyuka in Imbewu: The Seed has paid lobola for his girlfriend from KwaZulu-Natal and has kept his bride’s identity a secret.

Sources close to the star revealed to the publication that he paid more than 11 cows for his long-term girlfriend.

“He was supposed to pay 11 cows, but he went beyond and paid extra cows. Mduduzi loves his woman, he can do anything for her. That’s why he made sure his in-laws did not complain when he went to pay lobola.”

Another close friend shared that the Imbewu: The Seed actor was present at the lobola negotiations.

“Normally, during the negotiations, the groom should not get involved, but Mduduzi participated because he didn’t want to leave room for any mistake. It’s not that he didn’t trust his uncles, he wanted to make sure his in-laws were satisfied and a good relationship between the two families is built.”

Nombela confirmed he recently married his long-term girlfriend but said it was a private family matter.

“This is a personal and family matter. It has nothing to do with my craft as an artist. So, as much as I confirm I paid lobola, I can’t give further details about it.”
