    Actor Bonko Khoza: ‘Mqhele character doesn’t belong to me’

    ‘MQHELE CHARACTER BELONGS TO DUDU BUSANE’

    The actor-voice-over artist Bonko Khoza recently took to Twitter to applaud Uzalo star Wiseman Mncube for his portrayal as Mqhele in Showmax’s The Wife season three.

    According to TshisaLIVE, Khoza was reacting to viewers who suggested that he played the role better.

    “I pray one day the audience and the creators can be on the same page because there’s a real disconnect between what happens behind the scenes and what the public sees. This character does not belong to me.”

    “It belongs to Sis Dudu and Showmax. Meaning it can be played by whoever they see fit. As for me, I did my fair share. And now it’s time to give other actors a chance on the same big platform that I got given a chance.”

    “Once we as an audience can tap into this idea of creativity and collaboration instead of being entitled to actors’ lives, you’ll enjoy the art of what we’re actually doing so much more, I promise you. Much love.”

    ‘THE WIFE’ FANS REACT TO BONKO KHOZA’S TWEETS

    @baaslong:

    “Mqhele I used to hate u when u were beating u Hlomu because it felt like it was real, u killed that part with Wiseman u can see that he is acting but with u it was something else it was real, your facial expression when u are Angry, happy, sad, wish u good luck Makeba.”

    @HlengiweSim:

    “You played Mqhele so well that Mqhele became you, as much as Wiseman is good too, I personally wish you were never re-casted.”

    @Tshepo_Gigaba:

    “I’m not going to lie to you, you may try and convince us whatsoever, put yourself in our shoes as views. You’ve made us connect to you, as much as we hated you we also loved you dearly so.”
