According to Briefly News, the house music duo was formed in 2009. It did not take long for DJ Zinhle’s husband and Thabo Mabogwane, aka Smol, to rise to fame and fortune with their 2011 debut album, Talking to the Drums.

In April 2022, fans speculated that Black Motion has split up. In a statement, the musicians however explained that the only changes were that Murdah had changed his name to Mörda and would be launching a solo deejaying career while Smol would be embarking on his own business.

According to ZAlebs, the DJ said he will arrange a meeting with Thabo Smol to discuss this rather “sensitive” matter.

At the time rumours of their alleged split did the rounds, Briefly News reported that Black Motion fans were convinced that Zinhle were to blame. This after DJ and producer Prince Kaybee took to his Twitter timeline to share the news Black Motion was no longer.

Kaybee has collaborated with Murdah and Smol on some tracks in the past and many believed his tweet to be true. Fans were quick to jump to the conclusion that Zinhle convinced her baby daddy and husband to concentrate on his solo career as a DJ.

Well, it surely looks like Smol has now moved on…
