The official synopsis read: “Trevor will be cracking jokes about learning German, speaking ill of the dead, judging people in horror movies and ordering Indian food in Scotland.”
Noah previously headlined two shows on Netflix — Afraid of the Dark released in 2017 and Son of Patricia released in 2018.
On Thursday 17 November, the Emmy winner shared a short teaser clip on Instagram, captioned:
“Nov 22. I Wish You Would. On @netflix.”
Trevor Noah’s shock ‘The Daily Show’ exit
On 30 September, the comedian announced that he would be stepping down as host of The Daily Show after seven years.
“My time is up,” the 38-year-old Noah said in video on the Twitter account of Comedy Central’s satirical news programme.
He cited as reason that he missed travelling and touring with stand-up comedy after being grounded by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I spent two years in my apartment, not on the road,” he said. “I realised there’s another part of my life that I want to carry on exploring.”
Noah will officially leave The Daily Show on 8 December, according to Geo TV.
‘Trevor Noah’: I Wish You Would’ and ‘Off The Record Tour’
Well, he’s back on the road (and on Netflix!) with his comedy special for the streaming platform and a stand-up comedy world tour.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Noah filmed the show a day after he announced his exit from The Daily Show.
The comedian’s Off The Record Tour will kick off in America (US) on 23 January 2023. He will then head to Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and of course, his home country of South Africa.
The South African tour dates have not been announced yet.
Trevor Noah: I Wish You Would, was filmed at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The comedy special was directed by David Paul Meyer with Noah acting as executive producer.
