    Get ready SA! R&B legends The Manhattans to perform in Mzansi [watch]

    Grammy award-winning R&B legends, The Manhattans, will be returning to South Africa for a one-night-only performance on Sunday 2 October at Carnival City in Gauteng. The Kiss And Say Goodbye hitmakers previously blew Mzansi away with stellar performances in 1996, 2016 and 2019.

    THE MANHATTANS: A LEGENDARY R&B GROUP 

    The Manhattans are a legendary R&B group formed in the 1960s. The group was made up of five members but now, only three members remain. Over the years, the group has wowed their fans with ballads like Shining Star, Forever by Your Side, Hurt and Wish That You Were Mine

    The award-winning group, led by singer Gerald Alston, has released more than 20 albums and 45 of their songs have featured on the Billboard R&B charts. 

    The Manhattans have achieved two top 10 hit singles and a number one hit with their classic love song, Kiss and Say Goodbye

    THE MANHATTANS HEAD TO MZANSI 

    The Manhattans first touched down on South African soil in 1996 and nearly two decades later, the group is gearing up for their fourth performance in Mzansi. Speaking to eNCA in 2016, Gerald Alston said the group had sold more records in South Africa than in any other country. 

    “I remember from the very first time we performed here. The feeling, the spirit we got from the fans, it was unbelievable and still continues today,” said Alston. 

    “It’s an honour to be called a legend and I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.”

    EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW 

    The Manhattans will be performing at Carnival City, Brakpan, Gauteng on Sunday 2 October. The performance is set to kick off at 16:00 and tickets are already on sale.
