    Hottest in local music: Nedbank Cup Final to feature star-studded lineup

    On Saturday 28 May, Pretoria-based soccer giants Mamelodi Sundowns will go head-to-head against Marumo Gallants at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg, North West for the Nedbank Cup Final. 

    For the first time ever, the Nedbank Cup final will be a two-day affair set to kick off at Phokeng Mall on Friday 27 May. Fans can expect some of the biggest artists in Mzansi, including Blxckie and amapiano duo Amaroto, (Reece Madlisa and Zuma) to perform at the opening concert on 28 May.

    NEDBANK CUP FINAL HEATS UP 

    The Nedbank Cup Final is one of the biggest fixtures on the local soccer calendar. To kickstart the exciting weekend, football fans will be treated to a full day of activities at Phokeng Mall in Rustenburg attended by football legends Sphiwe Tshabalala and Jerry Sikhosana to name a few. 

    On 28 May, football fans will be treated to thrilling performances for the opening concert of the Nedbank Cup Final. Blxckie and amapiano stars Pabi Cooper, Reece Madlisa and Zuma will set the stadium alight with their hit tracks. 

    Two of  Mzansi’s biggest old-school artists, TKZee and Mafikizolo will also be performing and football fans at home will have the chance to tune in. 

    ‘A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER’

    Khensani Nobanda, the group executive for group marketing and corporate affairs at Nedbank, says the Nedbank Cup final will be a footballing weekend to remember. 

    “We’re excited to have reached a 15-year milestone of great football and being the sole knock-out competition that contributes to the development of domestic soccer by giving amateur teams an opportunity to compete against top-tier teams.”

    “We’re excited about our final fixture and hope the entertainment line-up we are bringing to Rustenburg will pique fans’ excitement ahead of the game.”

    EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW 

    The Nedbank Cup Final is set to begin at 18:00 but gates at Royal Bafokeng Stadium will open at 15:00 for fans to find their seats before the opening concert.

    Tickets for the match are available at R40 for adults and R15 for children under the age of 12. 

    Spectators are required to produce proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test done within 72 hours prior to kick-off. 

    Fans will also have to produce an identity document and a match ticket for entry into the stadium.
