    Local is lekker! Blxckie announced as first act for Rocking the Daisies

    South African rapper Blxckie has been announced as the first act for the highly-anticipated Rocking The Daisies festival set to take place at Cloof Wine Estate in Cape Town between 7 and 9 October. The festival has also announced several other local artists as part of the lineup including amapiano star, DBN Gogo.

    BLXCKIE TO MAKE HIS ROCKING THE DAISIES DEBUT 

    Taking to Instagram on Monday 23 May, Rocking the Daises announced that Blxckie will be making his festival debut later this year. The Big Time Sh’lappa hitmaker has had an incredible year so far and the festival has dubbed him the “golden boy of SA music”. 

    “Coming off a trailblazing two-year run and set to kick off an international tour alongside Dreamville’s Earthgang in the fourth quarter of 2022.”

    “Blxckie will be setting our fest alight for the first time ever at Rocking the Daisies this year,” read the festival’s post.

    MORE LOCAL ACTS TO ROCK THE STAGE 

    Amapiano producer and DJ, DBN Gogo, star rapper Nasty C and Kid Fonque are also set to perform at Rocking The Daisies later this year. 

    Local muso Will Linley, who recently released his new single I Don’t Wanna Be Yours, is also set to hit the stage! 

    Linley shared his excitement in an Instagram video posted on 23 May. In his caption, the young muso wrote: “I’m honestly so excited, Daisies, here I come!”

    He previously told The South African in an exclusive interview that fans can expect his upcoming debut EP soon! 

    ROCKING THE DAISIES CAMPING PRICES 

    Rocking the Daisies has two separate campsites available for festival-goers this year. In the “general” camping site area will be three different camping options, general camping, priority and an Oasis Camp. According to the festival’s website, the Oasis camp is a safe space for women and LGBTQI+ festival-goers. 

    The second campsite is the Hallmark House Daisyland which is inspired by the Johannesburg-based boutique hotel, Hallmark House. 

    This includes six different VIP options including the Black Coffee Penthouse which is available for R13 795. 

    Tickets for the festival are set to be released on Thursday 26 May.
