R100k for a nail set? Mel Viljoen introduces ‘diamond nails’

Businesswoman Melany “Mel” Viljoen said that she owns the patent for installing diamonds into nails and treated the fellow housewives to a “diamond girls nail day” on the latest episode of the Real Housewives van Pretoria which released on Kyk Net on Thursday 17 November.

The Tammy Taylor Nails SA founder Mel Viljoen held a diamond nails session for the Real Housewives van Pretoria ladies. She was also joined by Kelly Khumalo’s attorney Magdalene Moonsamy.

“I hold the worldwide patent for installing diamonds into nails. So I decided one day that diamonds in nails would be fabulous and I hoped that everyone else thought the same,” she said on the latest episode of Real Housewives van Pretoria.

Mel went on to reveal that they have sold sets of nails for a whopping R100 000.

“So, we have sold sets of R100 000 per set of nails,” she continued.

The reality star’s husband, former notorious lawyer Peet Viljoen then made a dramatic entrance along with bodyguards… into his own home with the diamonds.

“I brought genuine diamonds for those who want them,” said Peet.

Twitter users were unsure if people would really pay the price for the diamond nails. While other Tweeps slammed Mel for saying she owned the patent.

“Brilliant marketing for Tammy Taylor with this diamond day. Not sure if its really something people would pay 10k for but at least we know about the service,” wrote @bonikhanz.

“Mel talking about “I own the patent worldwide” for the diamond nail what what when they don’t even own the name Tammy Taylor🙃. Allegedly… mos,” wrote @TiaBlack007.

Others questioned whether the diamonds were “even real”.

“Are the diamonds even real?” wrote @sillysli.
