The funeral of the late Big Brother Mzansi contestant Rethabile “Dinky Bliss” Potsane has been slightly changed. Although it is still going to be held on 23 November, the contestant will no longer be buried in the Vaal as previously reported.
According to Entertainment Commentator Kgopolo “Phil” Mphela the funeral will now be held in Johannesburg.
“The late reality tv star will be cremated in JHB in a private ceremony for family only,” Phil said.
DINKY LEAVES BEHIND A SON
In a released statement by the family, Dinky is said to have passed on during the early hours of today 13 November at the Hillbrow Clinic
“More details will follow in due course. At the moment, the family is still shocked and grieving,” read the statement.
The 29-year-old star left behind a two-year-old son, although at this stage, it is not clear who the son is with currently but speculations are that he is with family members.
The content creator’s manager Bukhosi Heshu revealed to Zimoja that Dinky was rushed to Hillbrow Clinic after she complained of feeling ‘feverish’ on Friday 11 November.
“This happened so suddenly. She was fine and only complained of a fever…On Friday Dinky had a mild fever. Saturday, it became worse until her neighbours suggested they take her to the doctor. She was with her two-year-old son in her apartment in Kempton Park,” Heshu said.
HER DEATH NOT LINKED TO DEPRESSION
Prior to her death, Dinky was vocal about her struggles with depression which lead people to speculating that her death was linked to the mental illness.
Her manager however clarified that her death was not due to depression.
“Yes, Dinky was public about her depression struggles, but please wait for the family to deal with the shock and details of her untimely demise will be shared”.
“I can 100% confirm that she [Dinky] did not commit suicide nor [that] she passed away due to depression. Details of the cause of her death will be released as soon as the doctors get back with the test results,” the statement read.
