    #SAMA28 nominees: Amapiano dominates first three categories

    The nominees for the top three categories at the 28th annual South African Music Awards (Samas) were officially announced on Friday 3 June. This comes after awards organisers announced that there was a record number of entries for this year’s awards. A total of 1 395 entries were received for this year’s awards.

    AMAPIANO DOMINATES TOP THREE CATEGORIES 

    On 3 June, the Sama nominations for the Record of the Year, Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year were announced. These three categories are all awards the public will vote for. 

    Amapiano giant DJ Maphorisa dominates the first three categories with a total of five nominations while De Mthuda scored four nods.
