    Spooky season: Five shows to stream on Showmax this Halloween

    Halloween is around the corner and if you’re looking for something spooky and scary to watch, we’ve got you! Here are five “spooky” shows to stream on Showmax this Halloween.


    Melanie Lynsky co-stars alongside Oscar nominee Juliette Lewis and Tawny Cypress as the now-adult survivors of a plane crash that stranded their wildly talented high school girls’ soccer team deep in the Canadian wilderness in 1996. 

    Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, Yellowjackets has a 100% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for seven Emmys this year, including Outstanding Drama Series.

    The horror series is based on the short story Jerusalem’s Lot by Stephen King. In the 1850s, Captain Charles Boone relocates his family to his ancestral home in the small, sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners in Maine. Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s history and fight to end the darkness.


    A vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, throwing an idyllic American town into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begins to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets in Chucky, which picks up after the events of the seventh film in the horror franchise, Cult of Chucky. 

    Created by Fangoria Chainsaw Award nominee Don Mancini the series stars Oscar nominee Brad Dourifas the voice of serial-killer-possessed Good Guy doll Chucky, with child actor Zackary Arthur as Jake Wheeler.

    4. ‘DR. DEATH’
