Four suspects who allegedly killed a woman appeared before the Mpumalanga High Court. The case against the four, including two of the woman’s daughters, was postponed.
Sister arrested for allegedly killing mother
The murder occurred in Barberton two years ago. Penelope and Nonhlanhla Mthunywa were arrested and charged with the murder of their mother Wanter Dlamini. It’s been alleged that the sisters killed Dlamini for an insurance payout.
It’s been reported that Penelope, Nonhlanhla and three others; Ntombizodwa Ndwandwa, Moses Masemola, who since passed away and Stanley Mashikeng, worked together to assault, rape and kill Dlamini.
An insurance policy was taken out in Dlamini’s name
Dlamini’s body was found by passerbys on a road near Barberton just days after she disappeared.
An insurance policy of R40 000 was reportedly taken out in Dlamini’s name. The policy is said to pay out double the amount in the event of Dlamini’s unnatural death.
The matter has been postponed due to one of the daughters being hospitalised, reports SABC News.
Son who ‘DRANK’ mother’s blood after allegedly killing her – abandons bail
In other news making headlines, the 24-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his mother to death and drank her blood will remain in police custody until his next court appearance in July.
Thabang Moswane appeared before the Koster Magistrates’ Court on charges of murder. He abandoned bail and his case has been postponed to 7 July 2022 for further investigation.
On 9 May 2022, Boons police were called to the horrific murder scene in Mathopestad. Reports indicated that the mother Kedisaletse Elizbeth Moswane (53) and her son got into a fight on the said day. Read the full story here.
