June SASSA grants available from TOMORROW – but these recipients will have to wait…

A reminder has been issued for the millions of beneficiaries who are set to receive their June SASSA grants this week – with the first batch of payments going live on Thursday. However, others won’t have the luxury of collecting their handouts tomorrow.

June SASSA grants will be paid on these dates

Only the Older Person’s Grants will be available on Thursday 2 June. All other claimants must wait a little longer, with those receiving Child Support Grants and the SRD R350 payments having to hold out until the start of next week.

For the June SASSA grants, the payment schedule is interrupted by the weekend. The agency only ever makes one of its major grants available per day. The R350 payment is usually the last to go live, following shortly after Child Support Grants are deposited.

You can see the full monthly payment schedule here:

    • OLDER PERSON’S GRANTS: Thursday 2 June
    • DISABILITY GRANTS: Friday 3 June
    • CHILD SUPPORT GRANTS: Monday 6 June
    • ALL OTHER GRANTS, INCLUDING THE R350 PAYMENT: No earlier than Monday 6 June

The R350 grants, meanwhile, have undergone a slight legislative change. They are now paid under the Social Assistance Act, meaning that those who had previously applied for the funds must do so again, in order to keep their payments active.

“The R350 grant will now be paid under the Social Assistance Act. Everyone, including those who applied previously, must now re-apply. Those previously approved will still receive their money, even after re-application.”

“Successful applicants will be paid from the month they applied. Once available, you can collect your R350 grant from Pick n Pay, Boxer, Shoprite, Checkers, or U-Save. You can apply by visiting the SASSA website.”
