Mpumalanga: One suspect ARRESTED for possession of traffic uniform

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mpumalanga has confirmed the arrest of one suspect who was found in possession of several items, including an unlicensed firearm with ammunition, jammer and traffic officer uniforms.

The man was nabbed by police on Saturday, 4 June 2022.

“According to our information, members of the Secunda Flying Squad members were patrolling on the R29 near Leandra when they came across a suspicious Toyota Corolla vehicle. Their instincts prove to be correct when they stopped the vehicle and instead, two of its occupants fled even before the spoke to the Police. The energetic members searched the vehicle and found an unlicensed firearm with ammunition, jammer, traffic officer uniforms, false number plates and blue lights in the vehicle,” said SAPS Mpumalanga spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.
