    One dead another injured in Kanyamazane Shopping Complex shooting

    Police in Kanyamazane, Mpumalanga are investigating a shooting incident which claimed one life and landed another person in hospital.

    The shooting incident reportedly happened at Kanyamazane Shopping Complex on Sunday, 23 October 2022 at around 09:00.

    According to a report by the South African Police Service (SAPS), after the shooting incident two victims with gunshot wounds were taken for medical treatment at a local clinic.

    Spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli said one of the victims was unfortunately certified dead by the medical personnel at the clinic meanwhile the other victim was transferred to hospital for further medical care.

    “Circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting are currently under investigation. No arrest has been made as yet and police are doing their best following the fatal shooting, to bring the perpetrators to book.”

    Police have since urge anyone with information that may assist in apprehending the perpetrator(s) in this case to call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 or send information via MySAPS App.

    All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous, police said. 

    Mpumalanga Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has condemned the shooting incident and vowed that police will ensure that the perpetrators are soon put behind bars.
