Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile is said to be engineering a possible move away from the club this coming January transfer window.

Recent reports seem to indicate that Shalulile has even stopped training at Sundowns in order to force an exit.
Shalulile a notable absentee
Shalulile has not featured for Sundowns in the last four fixtures in all competitions. Those games include the heavy 3-0 loss to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi-final second leg. In fact, the last game the Namibian international featured in was the 0-0 first leg draw between the two sides.

The narrative around Shalulile’s absence from the team seemed to be centred around a possible injury. Speaking to the media ahead of the game against Pirates, Sundowns senior coach Manqoba Mngqithi initially said that the hitman was being rested. The next time around though, he said that the players availability for the game this past weekend was going to be determined by the club specialist, which would then indicate a possible injury or an issue with his conditioning.
Not seeing eye to eye with Sundowns coaches?
Now according to the latest reports, it looks like there may be more than what meets the eye when it comes to the Shalulile situation. According to source speaking to The Citizen, the player is actively trying to leave Sundowns. In fact, he is going to the extent of missing practice to force his case.
“It is the same old story isn’t it? The club (Sundowns) have said to him (Shalulile) he cannot move in the next transfer window because they need him, especially for their Caf (Champions League) campaign,” said a source.
The source then went on to further fuel rumours that the situation may be deeper than what is thought.
“But he feels he wants to make the move now. I also heard that he fought with one of the coaches after the (MTN8) first leg against Orlando Pirates. It was about the team not getting any shots on target and there was a suggestion that it is because his mind is not there due to the fact that he wants to leave.”
January exit on the cards?
It remains to be seen just how true these claims are, and if Sundowns will cave in to the demands of Shalulile should it really be the case.
