The Roodepoort/Krugersdorp SPCA has reiterated its call for owners to not give their pets away after yet another pitbull attack on 17 November, in which an 11-year-old sustained injuries and a pitbull sadly lost its life.

As per standard procedure, the dog was scanned for a microchip and the owner listed was contacted. Unfortunately, it was discovered that the owners had given the dog away to a home containing two unsterilised pitbulls, one being male.

“What possesses a person to give a loving pet away to a home with two unsterilized pitbulls, one being a male. These animals are very territorial.” – A post on the SPCA’s Facebook page read.
