Extensive damage and theft of goods were spared at a Gauteng dealership after a foiled break-in.
ONE SUSPECT ARRESTED IN DEALERSHIP ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN
On Friday, 5 August, Fidelity ADT reported on the arrest of a suspect who was found inside the dealership on the East Rand.
“In the early hours of the morning, a man was caught trying to break into a local car dealership, thankfully our team were on the alert and caught a suspect,”Fidelity ADT

According to the private security, the group had already entered the building and had started to pack out computers when the team swooped in.
“Great work on thwarting the crime and thank you for keeping our customers and their assets safe,” Fidelity ADT thanked its response team.
This was not the first attempt at a dealership in Gauteng.
COMMON OCCURENCE IN JOHANNEBSURG
In the south of Johannesburg, a group of armed men were successful in robbing a dealership.
According to News24, the group of gunmen made off with six cars after robbing a dealership in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg in February this year.

The group allegedly stormed into the dealership and demanded vehicle keys at gunpoint.
Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello said the gunmen fled the scene with the vehicles, which included BMWs and Volkswagens.
Sello added that no shots were fired during the robbery.
News24 further reported that the Lenasia police opened a business robbery case for investigation.
