Trevor Noah, 38, was born in Johannesburg. He is a South African comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor and television host.
Noah has won various awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award from 11 nominations.
He was named one of “The 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media” by The Hollywood Reporter in 2017 and 2018.
In 2018, Time magazine named him one of the hundred most influential people in the world.
Noah said: “I was born in South Africa during apartheid, a system of laws that made it illegal for people to mix in South Africa. And this was obviously awkward because I grew up in a mixed family. My mother’s a black woman, South African Xhosa woman… and my father’s Swiss, from Switzerland.”
