    Three people killed in Vereeniging collision

    Three people were killed and five injured in a collision and secondary collision between three vehicles on the R42 at the Goeiehoek intersection, east of Vereeniging, last night, Saturday, 17 September.

    VAAL ACCIDENT LEAVES THREE PEOPLE KILLED

    According to ER24, their paramedics were on the scene at 19:45 along with Midvaal Fire and Traffic Departments and the Vereeniging SAPS.


    “A bakkie and Ford Fiesta were found on the side of the road, the Ford on its roof.”

    ER24 reports that a third light motor vehicle apparently hit one of the wheels in the road, but the two adult males from that vehicle declined transportation to the hospital.

    The adult male from the bakkie also declined transportation to the hospital.


    “Two adult females and one adult male were found under the Fiesta showing no signs of life. They had, unfortunately, all suffered fatal injuries in the collision and were declared dead on arrival.


    A 3-year-old boy and a 17-year-old male were also found on the scene, having been extricated from the Fiesta. There had both suffered serious injuries and were treated with Advanced Life Support interventions before being transported to Sebokeng Hospital for further care,” the further report.

    LAW ENFORCEMENT LEFT TO INVESTIGATE THE ACCIDENT

    ER24 also indicated that the South African Police Services (SAPS) were on the scene for further investigations.

    Meanwhile, a day a before (Friday, 16 September) ER24 attended to a head-on collision which left half a dozen killed.

    According to ER24, the six people died in a head-on collision between two motor vehicles on the N1 North, 40km outside Polokwane. Two people survived the incident, a father and child, who suffered critical and serious injuries respectively.
