WATCH: Prince Andrew called ‘sick old man’ by lone heckler

A flare-up of anti-monarchy protests have been reported over the past 48 hours in Britain, with some citizens voicing their opposition to the royalty after Queen Elizabeth II’s death. And, if you want a lightning rod for controversy, look no further than Prince Andrew.

Prince Andrew abused by member of the public

The Queen’s son has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons. His association with the sick paedophile Jeffrey Epstein destroyed his reputation – as did revelations from some of the young girls who were abused on the billionaire’s private island.

Prince Andrew himself allegedly assaulted a number of victims. Instead of contesting the charges in court, the royal relative paid a £12 million settlement to one of his accusers. His attempts to block and delay legal processes also cast doubts over his innocence.

The state-funded figure has largely kept out of the public eye since the settlement was paid – but he has been allowed to take a leading role in processions across the country, since his mother died at the age of 96 last Thursday.

    Anti-monarchy protests continue in UK

However, there are a few discontented grumbles spreading across the UK. Protesters in Edinburgh and Oxford were arrested yesterday, for demonstrating against the existence of the monarchy. However, one protester decided to dial things up a notch on Monday.

A young male was seen making his way towards the front of a crowd. As the funeral procession passed by – along with Prince Andrew – the dissenter exclaimed that he was a ‘sick old man’. Mourners then drag the man from the barriers, and a police officer leads him away.

As the protester is separated from the crowd, he also brands The Prince ‘disgusting’. Two video clips have emerged from the scene. One captures the initial heckle, and the other documents the aftermath as the youngster is taken away from baying crowds.
