A well-known game hunter was shot in the head in a suspected hit just outside Mokopane. Nothing was stolen in the attack.
THE WELL-KNOWN GAME HUNTER WAS KILLED EARLIER THIS MONTH
Riaan Naude was a well-known 55 years old game hunter who lived in Phalaborwa, South Africa.
According to the Heritage Protection Group (HPG), a non-profit crime-fighting organisation said, Riaan had pulled his truck off the road just outside Mokopane after it overheated.
It is believed a white Nissan stopped next to the vehicle, and two men came out with one of them shooting Naude at close range. The shooting happened earlier this month.
‘HE WAS FOUND WITH HIS FACE UP AND BLOOD ON HEAD AND FACE’
Police spokesperson Lt.col. Mamphaswa Seabi said police found the Riaan’s body next to the truck upon arriving at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed a cattle herder in the area heard a gunshot and spotted a white Nissan pickup truck speeding towards Marken.
All the personal belongings were still in the vehicle, and weapons, ammunition, hunting equipment, and clothes were left as is.
POLICE COULD NOT YET CONFIRM ANY ARRESTS IN THE MURDER CASE
Seabi could not yet confirm on Monday whether anyone has been arrested for the murder yet.
Riaan was part of the Eco Safari group, located in the far north of the African country, and Pro Hunt Africa. Pro Hunt is a professional hunting team that attracts tourists looking to make their “dream” of hunting animals come true.
PEOPLE ARE NOT HAPPY ABOUT THE ANIMALS HE HAS SHOT AND KILLED
On the website of Pro Hunt, Riaan is seen posing with several wild animals that have been shot and killed, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, and lions.
Infuriated social media users reacted to the photos of Riaan posing with the animals.
According to a price list on Pro Hunt’s website, hunters are charged $2500 (R32 596,80) to kill a crocodile, while the price for the Big Five and a hippo is only given on request.
